Terms and Conditions

  1. Introduction

Please read our terms and conditions carefully before accepting or using our website or services.

  2. Agreement

By accessing our website and/or making a purchase from Mishka Grooming, you participate in our “Service” and agree to comply with the following Terms and Conditions (“Terms of Service”, “Terms”), including any additional terms, conditions, and policies referenced herein or available in our website. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the website, encompassing but not limited to browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and content contributors.

Regardless of the method of booking—whether online, via telephone, or in person at the salon—you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

By confirming our terms and conditions, the dog owner or responsible accepts our grooming services. Our customers and us will agree on the style verbally, depending on the pet’s coat condition, age, lifestyle, etc. Your pet’s welfare is the most highlighted principle in Mishka Grooming.

We do our best to make a pleasant environment for your pet during grooming and other services. By accepting our terms and conditions, you confirm:

    • Your pet is fit and healthy, and all details provided are correct.
    • The groomer will not be held liable or responsible for irritation, abrasion, patchiness or hair loss due to any pre-existing skin conditions or as a result of the process of grooming, de-matting, thinning, stripping, or shaving, or any other mishap caused by the non-disclosure of your pet’s medical conditions.

In the case you are not 100% satisfied with the grooming service, before leaving Mishka Grooming, you must notify us to resolve the issue within 48 hours.

By utilising the services of Mishka Grooming, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

  3. Health

    1. Health Requirements

The owner certifies that their dog is in good health and free of any contagious conditions. Mishka Grooming reserves the right to refuse grooming services to any dog that appears to be ill.

    2. Disease or Parasites

If you know your dog has fleas, ticks, or any parasites, please let us know. We accept dogs with such problems on secluded days or at the end of the day. Extra fees may apply to these dogs for treatment, spending more time, and extra cleaning.

    3. Veterinarian

By accepting our terms and conditions, you agree to emergency veterinary treatment if a medical emergency arises during grooming. In the event veterinary advice is deemed necessary, you agree to initiate this within 48 hours of your dog’s groom.

  4. Dog’s Conditions

    1. Aggressive Tendencies and Behaviour

The owner certifies that their dog is well-behaved and poses no threat to other dogs or groomers. Mishka Grooming reserves the right to refuse grooming services to any dog displaying aggressive behavior.

If your pet has bitten or has aggressive tendencies, you must inform us. Mishka Grooming reserves the right to use a muzzle or refuse/stop grooming if your pet represents aggressive tendencies and shows any danger to the staff or other dogs in the salon. However, the full start price will still be charged because, at that point, we cannot fill your appointment.

Additional fees may be charged for the extra time needed to groom or treat a dog due to its behavior or temperament.

    2. De-matting

It is important to be aware that mats in a dog’s coat can result in various health issues including itching, discomfort, and skin infections. Removing severely matted fur comes with the risk of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to trapped warts, moles, and skin folds within the mats. Heavy matting can also keep moisture on the dog’s skin, leading to the growth of fungus or bacteria, which can cause skin irritation. Mishka Grooming is not responsible for any pre-existing conditions caused by matted fur, but we will inform you if any unusual conditions are noticed during the grooming process.

If your dog’s coat is severely tangled, it may be beyond our capacity to untangle it. Grooming for over an hour can be stressful and potentially harmful to your pet, so in such cases, we may have to trim the coat short to start fresh at the next appointment. We will only attempt detangling if your dog is not exhibiting signs of stress or discomfort.

    3. Anal Glands

Mishka Grooming does not provide anal gland emptying services as this procedure is legally required to be performed by a licensed veterinary surgeon, as stated in the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966.

  5. Payment

    1. Due Payment

You will have to pay in advance to receive the service. Mishka Grooming accepts cash, credit/debit cards, and online payments. Cost estimates are based on the size, age, or breed of your dog. But some pets need extra services. Therefore, the estimated cost is not the final cost, and you will have to pay the additional rate at the end if needed.

    2. Deposits

To schedule appointments, a credit card must be kept on file. No-shows and last-minute cancellations will incur an automatic fee. If you prefer not to store a credit card, a 50% deposit of the base grooming fee must be made. This deposit can only be refunded (excluding the credit card fee) with at least 48 hours notice prior to cancelling.

  6. Fees

    1. No-Shows or Cancellations Fee

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may require you to cancel an appointment; however, as a small business, we kindly request that you provide us with at least 48 hours’ notice whenever possible. This allows us to fill your spot with a customer from our waiting list and make the best use of our time.

Therefore, in the case of cancellation, you have to inform us 48 hours before your appointment. As a small local business with limited staff, we operate on a tight schedule. Lateness in dropping off or picking up your pet can impact our entire day. To minimize this, we kindly request your promptness and ask that you do not arrive excessively early for your scheduled appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled pick-up, there will be a charge of £10 for every additional 15 minutes.

Therefore, No-shows, last-minute cancellations (less than 48hrs), or late arrivals will be subject to the following fees:

      • Cancellation fee:
        • Before 48 hours: No fee
        • Within 48 hours: £30
      • No-show fee: Full charge
      • Late arrival for drop-off or pick-up:
        • £15 (for the first 15 minutes)
        • £10 (for every additional 15 minutes)

We have the right to refuse you if you repeat it many times.

For booking an appointment, you need pre-paid payment. The prepayment helps to guarantee booking the appointment. If you cancel your visit 48 hours before your appointment, the prepayment is refunded or forwarded to the new appointment time. If you cancel your appointment in less than 48 hours, your prepayment will not be refunded. If you do not show up to a booked appointment, the deposit is forfeited as a no-show fee. You will not be able to make any future appointments without payment in full at the time of booking.

Please bring your dog to Mishka on time and not earlier than your appointment.

    2. Extra Charges

Mishka Grooming has a very transparent pricing policy. We are one of the few grooming businesses in the UK that puts their price list on their website. However, the price for a grooming service is subject to change depending on several factors, such as breed, hair, behaviour, type, and size of the dog. The price list is for an average dog of different breeds, but please expect a slight difference in the final price if our professional groomer determines that the grooming of your dog requires further attention such as de-matting, flea treatment, de-shedding, or special handling or extra care as a result of aggressive behaviour. The price guideline for these extra charges can be found here.

Please contact our customer services team if you have a giant dog such as Chow Chow. We can only serve a Chow Chow dog if the dog is not aggressive.

  7. Responsibility

The owner is solely responsible for the behaviour and actions of their dog. Mishka Grooming will not be held liable for any injury or damage caused by a dog while in our care.

  8. Indemnification

The Client agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Mishka Grooming from any and all liability, losses, or damages to the Client’s property or injury to their pet(s), including, but not limited to, sickness, disease, infestation, distress, and death, except in cases of death or personal injury caused by our negligence. This indemnification applies to all incidents directly or indirectly related to the actions or events of Mishka Grooming, regardless of whether such liability, loss, or damage results from unforeseen circumstances. Furthermore, the Client agrees to release and indemnify Mishka Grooming from any claims of loss, legal actions, attorney’s fees, and any claims or judgments against Mishka Grooming to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. This indemnification clause shall remain valid and enforceable under all circumstances permitted by law.

  9. Complaints

If you are unsatisfied with our services and believe that your dog has not received the expected level of care, you must raise this issue at the time of collection from our salon.

Should you notice any issues after leaving the salon, you must inform us within 48 hours of the service, providing any relevant evidence to support your claim. We may consider complaints made within this period in good faith.

If no complaint is made within this 48-hour period, you will forfeit the right to make any subsequent complaints, and complaints made beyond this timeframe will not be accepted.

All complaints must be submitted via email to info@mishkagrooming.com. This ensures that we have a written record of all communications and can address your concerns promptly and effectively.

Any submission of complaints as outlined herein shall not affect or alter the scope of indemnification provided by the Client to Mishka Grooming. The indemnification obligations outlined in this agreement shall remain fully in effect notwithstanding any complaint or claim made by the Client.

  10. Photography and Videography Rights

Mishka Grooming reserves the right to take photographs and videos of dogs groomed at our salon for marketing and promotional purposes. These images may be used to showcase our services and the quality of our work across our website, other online platforms, and social media channels.

By using our services, you consent to the use of images of your pet for these purposes. If you have any objections to this practice, please notify us in advance. All images taken will be the property of Mishka Grooming and are subject to copyright.

  11. Severability

In the event that any provision of these Terms of Service is determined to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, such provision shall nonetheless be enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and the unenforceable portion shall be deemed to be severed from these Terms of Service. Such determination shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any other remaining provisions.

  12. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. By utilising the services of Mishka Grooming, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

  13. Changes to Terms and Conditions

Mishka Grooming reserves the right to amend or update these Terms and Conditions at its discretion, without prior notice. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. It is the responsibility of the Client to review these Terms periodically to stay informed of any updates. Continued use of our services following any modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.
